Council had been approached to reconsider the previous closure of two public access points at Bass Lake. In response, staff has gathered input from the community to help Council determine how to best move forward.
Thank you to everyone that shared their feedback online, in writing and in person during our engagement period! Staff have reviewed all the feedback and took a report to Council at a Committee of the Whole meeting on Wednesday October 11th and made a final decision at Council on October 18th. Details of these meetings are at https://calendar.georgianbluffs.ca/council.
Recommendation
That no action be taken in respect to the three accesses in the care and control of the Township at Bass Lake so that;
They remain in public ownership stewarded by the Township
That the Township does not seek to install any step or dock infrastructure on these accesses to support access to Bass Lake, and,
That the Township be receptive to reviewing and considering a future proposal, if one is made, for a resident group owned and operated access being established on Township property.
